The pieces worth noting in this “before” photo are lying broken on the wooden deck to the right of the window. Those are the chunks of concrete that had filled the basement window cavity. The pinkish stuff on top is a bit of ragged fiberglass insulation. The window had been concreted over on the outside and walled off on the inside. Who covers a basement window to a common area? On the notion that if some light is good, more is better, we decided to rehabilitate the basement’s windows, including this one covered with concrete, insulation and wood paneling. The after picture below isn’t a true after. It’s more of a “midway.” The wood paneling still covers the interior wall.
